Prelude Prep is a tuition-free, open-enrollment charter school, a public school in Texas. Texas public schools are free with no tuition. There is no application fee to apply, and no tuition is required to attend.

Prelude Prep is an open-enrollment charter school. If your child would attend one of the following school districts, you can attend Prelude Prep.

• Students must live in the Prelude Prep attendance boundary.
• Students entering Kindergarten must be five years of age on September 1 of the year they enroll.
• Students entering PreK must be four years of age on September 1 of the year they enroll and meet eligibility requirements. PreK at Prelude Prep is the only grade level that requires eligibility for the Free Program. Students who are not eligible for the free program have the option to pay tuition. PreK is the only grade level with an eligibility requirement. 

PreK Eligibility Guidelines

Yes, we believe our school dress should complement our learning culture.  Uniforms can be ordered through our vendor French Toast. Prelude Prep also has limited quantities of uniforms in stock for purchase at the school. Uniform assistance is available for families in need.

Prelude Prep participates in the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP), providing nutritional food to all our students following state and federal nutrition guidelines. Free Breakfast and Lunch are available for all students.

Prelude Prep students are released from school at noon every Wednesday to allow for teacher and staff professional development time. On Wednesday, we will offer FREE care from 12 pm to 3:45 pm (the end of the regular school day) for any family that cannot pick up their child at the early release time. Families who need this service need to sign up with the front office.

Prelude Prep has a special education department dedicated to ensuring that all students are supported and successful.

School Dismissal- 3:45 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 12:00 pm on Wednesday (free care provided until 3:45 if needed)

Early Cub Care Program (Fee- Based) Drop Off from 6:15 am-6:45 am

After School Program (Fee-Based)- 3:45 pm - 6 pm
