Our Approach

Our Approach at Prelude Prep

Prelude Prep is a tuition-free public charter school created to be a place for learning. Our approach is grounded in the belief that students learn best when expectations are clear, environments are calm, and relationships are strong.

Families come to Prelude Prep looking for a school that feels thoughtful and well designed. Teaching and learning here are guided by intention, consistency, and care for students as individuals.

A Place for Learning

At Prelude Prep, learning comes first.

Classrooms are structured to be focused, welcoming spaces where students can engage with their work and feel comfortable taking on challenges. Routines are consistent, expectations are clear, and students know what their day will look like.

Teachers support students academically while helping them build confidence and independence as learners. Learning is meaningful and developmentally appropriate, allowing students to grow at each stage.

Purposeful by Design

Nothing at Prelude Prep is accidental.

Instruction, routines, and school culture are intentionally designed to support student growth. From early learning through middle school, our programs are aligned so each stage builds naturally on the one before it.

This consistency helps students feel secure, supported, and connected as they move through the school.

Designed for Our Community

Prelude Prep proudly serves families on the Southside.

We believe strong schools belong in the neighborhoods they serve and should be accessible to families close to home. We value strong relationships with families and believe school works best when families and teachers work together.
